Wales wing, Shane Williams, is confident of regaining his fitness in time for the World Cup. Williams, who is recovering from elbow surgery, is unlikely to feature in the warm up game against England next Saturday, but feels that he will be ready to take his place in the squad for the tournament in France.
"Playing against England is probably pushing it too much," Williams told the Evening Post in Wales.
"I'm a lot further ahead than I thought I would be and I'm happy with my progress.
"August 4 looks like being too early for me to play.
"I don't want to push it but I'm nearly there.
"I can't do a lot of the physical stuff at the moment, but I've been given a dateline for my injuries to be ready."
Gareth Jenkins will pick his squad to attend the World Cup after the match with England with Williams likely to be included to travel to France.
